4 Travel Sites to Visit to Save Big when Booking

Many people ask, “Is there a way to travel without spending too much?” According to statistics, the number one reason why people don’t travel is the cost. The cost of plane tickets and hotel stay to be specific. While this is true, a lot of people who belong to the middle class are still able to travel anywhere they want because they are diligent enough to look for the most affordable travel deals online. Yes, you heard it right – affordable! Hence, if it is the cost that’s stopping you from travelling, then worry no more. THERE IS CERTAINLY A WAY TO TRAVEL WITHOUT SPENDING TOO MUCH! How? Visit these sites:

    Google Flights

Unlike other booking sites filled with lots of pictures and advertisements, www.google.com/flights/ has a minimalist design. For this reason, this site is recommended for those who are not savvy when it comes to booking itineraries online, especially elderlies. The first few buttons in the homepage allow you to choose whether you want to book round-trip, one way, or multi-city tickets. There is also a button where you can choose the class of service (economy, business, first class) you prefer and another button beside it to indicate the number of passengers. This site is ideal for those who are in a budget because a ‘Price Tab’ is available where you can indicate how much you are willing to spend.

    Hipmunk

Hipmunk is just like other booking sites that allow you to book flight, hotel, car, and package (flight + hotel) itineraries. However, what set it apart from others are its user-friendly interphase, simple design, and absolutely great deals. Hipmunk allows its users to compare prices across dozens of flight providers and thousands of hotels. The image below shows some results after I searched for a flight from Chicago (ORD) to Las Vegas (LAS) and a hotel for four nights. What I like most about this site is the ability to filter search through trip type. You can choose ‘romantic’ if you are travelling with your loved one or you can click on ‘kid-friendly’ if the whole family is going. There is also a button for ‘business’ and ‘luxury’.

    Skyscanner

Although the design of this site is not as simple as Google Flights and Hipmunk, Skyscanner is also an ideal go-to site for those who want to save a lot when booking. However, note that Skyscanner is not actually a booking website. It is a site where you can search for the most affordable flights, hotels, and/or car rentals. Once you have chosen the trip you want, it will then direct you to the actual provider to complete your booking.

    CheapoAir

As I’ve said before here in another article, CheapoAir is the site I use most regularly for my domestic and international flights. I could go on and on about how affordable I find this site. It’s best to always compare prices, but I find that this site has the lowest fares, along with frequent discount codes to give you even more of a deal. Make sure to check them out.

    Nightly Travel Guides Pro Tip:

Remember that there is no such thing as “the ultimate booking site that offers the cheapest deals”. Sometimes, a certain site offers the most affordable deals; sometimes, it doesn’t. This means you should not rely on one site alone. In addition, aside from comparing three or more travel sites when booking, it would also help if you fly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

  • Don’t Make Excuses for Not Going on Holiday

Don’t Make Excuses for Not Going on Holiday

We all need to take the occasional holiday and if you are in the habit of not getting away then perhaps it is time to stop looking for excuses. It is something too easy to give reasons not to do something rather than just go ahead and do it. Here are some of the most common excuses which can often be avoided when you try to do so.

    Too Expensive

With money tighter than ever for a lot of us it is undeniably difficult to get away now. However, if we use the internet smartly we can look for budget flights, last minute hotel accommodation, campsites and other ideas which could cut down on the cost. If you are really keen to get away on holiday then spending some time looking online could get you the trip you really want at a price you can afford. Don’t forget to be flexible about your dates and the destination if you can, as this will open up a lot of offers for you to consider. Going away during the low season is an option if you want to save cash and don’t mind the possibility of bad weather or some of the local facilities being closed. In fact, going away to somewhere like Spain or Italy in the winter can be a relaxing and interesting experience if you are used to summer trips there.

    Too Much Hassle

Going away on holiday is a hassle in some respects but for most of us the good points far outweigh the nuisance factor. If you want a hassle free existence then consider an all inclusive package or a cruise holiday. Another good idea is to take your car to the airport to make the overall trip more comfortable. You will find that Birmingham airport parking, for example, allows travellers to make light work of the first leg of the trip.  The same applies all across the UK and if you live in the South West then the Bristol airport parking offers could allow you to get started on your holiday with a lot less hassle.

    Not Enough Time

We all live busy lives these days but it is really enough to stop you getting away on holiday? If you have a job which doesn’t allow you even a week off then it is probably time to look for a new career before your blood pressure goes through the roof. If you prefer to take a number of shorter breaks throughout the year then this can be even more rewarding than one long holiday. If you are going to do this then it is even more important that you find a way of doing it without any hassle, using the ideas in the last point. For example, if you are going to be making a number of trips away from Gatwick then you will want to sort out Gatwick car parking at a reasonable cost each time. This is best done by organising it in advance and booking online.

  • Florida in a Week: Is it Possible?

Florida in a Week: Is it Possible?

The lengthy flight times to long haul destinations usually tempt travellers into booking two week stays. When you’re used to package holidays to Lanzarote and other European hot spots, cheap Florida holidays are definitely a world away from the norm.

2013 cheap Florida holidays are selling out fast; long haul breaks book up well in advance of short haul stints. If you’re tempted to secure your place on the trip of a lifetime but haven’t the budget to blow on a Floridian fortnight, then question of the moment is – can Orlando be done in a week?

To set the scene, the attractions and entertainment in Florida are like nothing you have experienced before. Bigger, better and brimming with brilliance, the parks, customer service and attention to detail in Orlando falls second to no other.

As a traveller, if you enjoy exploring the intricacies of your resort, discovering all aspects of the area in detail, a week in Florida won’t satisfy your needs. Ideally, to ‘do the parks’ at your leisure and make the most of the evening entertainment on offer, a minimum of 11 nights is required.

If you’re willing to be selective about where you visit and are happy to trek tirelessly for the duration of your stay, your week in Orlando could be the most amazing time of your life.

Be sure to spend a day riding the movies at Universal Studios and dedicate the same amount of time to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter as well as Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

A day each at the Walt Disney World Resort’s Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Magic Kingdom are also needed.  Choose 24 hours in between all the attraction madness to spend a calmer day at SeaWorld.

Although you may not have time to spend splashing around at the water parks or venturing to Busch Gardens, seven day cheap Florida holidays are still the getaways that dreams are made of.
